Two late-summer trips

25 JULY 2023 | ASHLAND, OR. — Do you have some recent backpacking experience and want to embark on a long backpacking trip in Southwest Oregon this summer?

Atop the High Siskiyou

Volunteer hiker leader Luke Brandy is leading two multi-night trips not to skip out on! These trips are long, but we built moderate daily itineraries. Just email bonsaigoat@gmail.com for details and to sign up.

Discover trails we’ve been working for years to open up

For both trips, you can expect a lot of variation with an emphasis on the upper elevations with long views, commanding summits, and otherwise beautiful scenery.

➨➨➨August 24 – 29: Siskiyou Wilderness Traverse
Get dropped off at the northern end of this 180,000-acre wilderness just spitting distance from the California Redwoods. Hike about 30 miles and explore mountain lakes, ridges, and some prolific peaks along the way. Just email bonsaigoat@gmail.com for details and to sign up.

Wild highland lakes

➨➨➨September 17 – 26. Fall’s first days on the monument-to-monument
Start at Pilot Rock on the west-edge of the Cascade-Siskiyou National monument and hike southwest along the Pacific Crest Trail to the Red Buttes Wilderness. From there, dip down to two subalpine lakes and traverse the Siskiyou Crest all the way to the Oregon Caves. Approximately 90 miles total. Just email bonsaigoat@gmail.com now for details and to sign up.

Our crews have been working for years to open up these routes

These are opportunities to unplug from the world, tune into the backwoods, and take in the last days of summer in style.
