1 JUNE 2017 | RED BUTTES WILDERNESS, ORE. — Siskiyou Mountain Club is still seeking sponsors for our 2017 interns.
Our interns are college students pursuing challenging careers. They spend their summer off their phones, working and studying their way through the most remote landscape on the west coast. They are responsible for salvaging wilderness trails that would otherwise disappear. They receive a $1,600 stipend between June 23 and August 30, and $2,000 in tuition reimbursement to whatever school they’re enrolled in.
Why become a 2017 sponsor?
It’s fun
Sponsors have the opportunity to spend quality time with the crew.
Your support lasts
Over the summer our interns build tough character, valuable skills, and unparalleled work ethic. Working in a small group (without any digital devices) using non-mechanized tools redefines their sense of ability and purpose. Watch a five minute movie from our 2016 season.
The projects are cool
This year our interns are salvaging trails that will result in new hiking opportunities in Southwest Oregon’s stunning backcountry.
Then our interns go on to land good jobs and live fulfilling lives.
