14 MAY 2018 | ASHLAND, ORE. — We are hiring a visitor services manager to help run our Hiking Center in beautiful downtown Ashland, Oregon. Siskiyou Mountain Club stewards 250+ miles of trails throughout the region. You will provide help to visitors looking for a hike or backpacking trip, and offer education on Leave No Trace and Wilderness ethics. Includes other development and administrative tasks. The position is part time and runs June 1, 2018 – September 15, 2018, with the possibility of extension.
The right person will have strong communication skills and be able to carry stimulating conversation. We seek candidates that are fiercely passionate about Wilderness, trails, and our mission. We value critical and creative thinkers, and value feedback from our staff. Your experience will help inform the organization’s values, strategy, and vision.
We will work with you to determine static hours for the visitor center, and we can accommodate some time off for summer plans.
