19 October 2015 | Kalmiopsis Wilderness, OR: Whetstone Butte — Help us this Thursday, October 22 on a brush wall that has swallowed the Kalmiopsis Rim Trail 1124 just a couple miles north of the Onion Camp Trailhead. The SMC van leaves Ashland Shop N’ Kart at 7:30am, with rendezvous options in Medford, Grants Pass and Selma. We’ll be back to Ashland by 7pm.

This trip is perfect for anyone, even if you don’t have prior experience maintaining trails. All you need is a good attitude, a pair of sturdy boots, durable pants, and enough food and water for the day. We provide tools, leadership and transportation. The Kalmiopsis Rim Trail is a 28 mile artery that runs north to south along the Wilderness’s eastern boundary, dividing the Chetco and Illinois watersheds.
