Dear Siskiyou Hikers,
Not much has changed since we started as a group of hikers with a trunk full of rusty tools. We’re still driven by an imperative to act, to start and finish the most challenging projects we can find.
But I will be the first to say that I’ve lost some innocence since we started. Back in 2010 I believed that we could accomplish anything with energy and passion alone.
I was wrong. It takes financial security to build organizations, move forward, and do good business. For that we need the community’s support.
The very first SMC crew: 19 June 2010
When you give $7 or more, you’re joining a group of hikers at the trailhead who just want to make a difference. You’re joining an organization that does something you can see. We save trails, year after year.
We’ve got project funding for 2015, including plans to restore a network of trails in the Wild Rogue Wilderness. But we can’t make it happen without your help.
Please go to www.siskiyoumountainclub.org/passport and act. Give $7 or more and join the Club.
Thank you so much.
Sincerely,
Gabriel Howe
Executive Director
