Hiring Youth (Ages 18-25) From Southwest Oregon For 2014 Trail Crew

Sugar Pine
We’re currently accepting applications for our 2014 Youth Trail Crew. Applicants should be 18-25 years old from Jackson, Josephine or Curry County, have a love for the outdoors, and be eager to work.

The crew hikes into different project sites in Southwest Oregon’s remote federal wilderness areas, where they camp-out and work for up to 12-days at a time. Projects include road rehabilitation and trail building in the Soda Mountain Wilderness, and trail restoration in the Kalmiopsis Wilderness.

Participants are required to participate in three training weekends. Crew members take part in nightly readings of great American authors, journaling, and two essays. Pay is dependent upon experience, and upon completion of the program a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to each participant.

The crew gets the chance to spend time in Oregon’s most remote and beautiful wildlands. Learn more, view tentative schedule, and apply today.

We’re accepting applications through April 15 and will make final decisions by May 1.
