Hike Into The Kalmiopsis With A Mission

June 20 – 22: Hike 7-9 miles in from the Vulcan Lake Trailhead with the mission of supplying our extended crew with food and supplies. They’re working in the Kalmiopsis through July 4. Stay overnight with them and start the hike back on Saturday morning. Saturday night we’ll camp near Johnson Butte or Vulcan Lake.

Pack light to afford food and weight for food and supplies they need. Hike along ridge tops and into the Kalmiopsis’ remote Box Canyon watershed. This epic service adventure is difficult to arduous.

June 26 – 29 Hike in from the edges of the Kalmiopsis and spend at least a night on the Chetco River. We will hike in from the Babyfoot Lake Trailhead or Vulcan Lake Trailhead depending on the progress and location of our extended crew. Our mission is to bring them in supplies and help them out on group projects for a day. Carpools leave Cave Junction or Brookings at 8:30 a.m. on June 26.
