Siskiyou Mountain Club accepting project proposals
Project proposals in support of trail maintenance on Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest System Trails are available through a partnership between the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest, and Siskiyou Mountain Club. Up 1o $17,749 will be distributed based on a competitive process. A minimum 20% cash or volunteer-labor match is required. Application opens May 1 and closes July 1, 2021.
Funds will be distributed as a reimbursement within 30 days after the project is complete and 20% match is documented.
Eligibility:
- Organization must be registered 501(c)(3) organization in good standing.
- Proposed projects must be pre-approved by the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest.
- Projects must be on current system trails
- Organizations must have internal financial policy and conflicts of interest policy in place
- Successful applicants must be able to complete proposed projects by 10/31/2021
The most competitive proposals and organizations will:
- Create connectivity to other recreational opportunities
- Have strong local support
- Be on trails with deferred maintenance
- Have a plan in place to maintain the trail in the long-term
Other requirements:
- Project funds may not be used to purchase equipment. Tools may be purchased.
- Project funds may not be used to pay members of organization’s governing body
