16 NOVEMBER 2019 | ASHLAND, OR. — We’ve got a great calendar up right now (check it out), including a series of amazing group backpacking trips already planned for 2020. Stop what you’re doing, get out your schedule, and fill these in now.
All events are free. Donations are always encouraged. And we are excited to see some new faces as we inch toward 2020, which marks the Club’s 10-year anniversary.
Friday, November 22: Red Buttes day hike
Next Friday, join staff members Karly White and Trevor Meyer for a day hike in the Red Buttes Wilderness to Cameron Meadows. In the summertime, these mountain prairies explode with wildflowers, and the forest leading up to them is just as dreamy.
Trevor and Karly have been working hard this fall to get the trail up to speed. Meet up at Star Ranger Station at 10am, or catch a ride with them from Ashland, and be back to Start by 4pm. Just email info@siskiyoumountainclub.org for details and to sign up.
Friday, November 22: Happy hour in the hikers den
Whether you make it out with Karly and Trevor or not, join us that evening at our headquarters (33 N 3rd Street #7 in Ashland’s Underground Marketplace).
We’re opening the doors at 5pm and have snacks and beverages on hand. At 6pm we’re sharing a short program, and we’ll wrap things up at around 7:30pm.
No need to sign up for that one. Just show up at 33 N 3rd Street anytime after 5pm.
Monday, December 2: Easy day hike
Join our executive director for an easy day hike. The location hasn’t been determined yet, but it will be somewhere unique. He’ll have cookies, cider, and the inside scoop on 2020. If you’ve been thinking about joining us for an event, but haven’t quite jumped in yet, this is a great chance to plug in.

December 11: 6:30pm @ REI Medford
Join us at REI to learn more about the signature routes we’ve rebuilt and adopted, and sign up for a group backpacking trip in 2020.

December 21 – 22: Overnight backpack
Join us for the longest night of the year deep in the Siskiyou backwoods. The hike is about four miles up a stunning river to a nice camp. Huddle ’round the campfire and bring winter on in style.
This is a potluck style event, so bring plenty of cheer and snacks to share. Just email info@siskiyoumountainclub.org for details and to sign up.
December 31: New Year’s at the Club House
Join us at the Gold Hill Club House to ring in the new year. We’re holding a massive bonfire and going potluck style for food.
